How money moves¶
Oura is non-custodial. It never holds, pools or passes on your money.

C[Customer's wallet, bank or card] -- money --> M[Your own account with that rail]
C -. checkout .-> O((Oura))
O -. signed webhook .-> S[Your server]
- Money goes from the customer's wallet, bank or card straight into your own account with that rail. If a customer pays with eSewa, the money lands in your eSewa merchant account.
- Oura runs the checkout, talks to the rail, confirms the payment and sends you a signed webhook.
- Your balance with Oura is always NPR 0, because there's nothing for Oura to hold.
What this means for you¶
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where do I see the money? | In your own account with each rail, exactly as if you'd integrated it directly. |
| When does it arrive? | On the rail's own schedule. Oura doesn't add a delay because it isn't in the path. |
| Who do I pay fees to? | Each rail, at its standard rate. Oura charges merchants nothing. |
| Can Oura freeze my funds? | No. Oura never has them. |
Refunds and disputes¶
Because the money sits in your rail account, refunds are made through that rail. The Oura API does not move money, so it has no refund endpoint.
